Helpful Tips to Stay Safe on the Road

Wednesday, 08 May 2019

We would like to list some basic and well-known tips on safe driving. These are not in order of importance because anything that could help safer driving is very important.

Give yourself enough time to make it to your destination without rushing.

Obey signs and lines on the roads. Do not make illegal turns even if no cars are around.

Avoid driving when tired.

Maintain a safe following distance between you and the car in front of you.

Avoid being in blind spots of other larger vehicles.

Do not drive under the influence.

Position your hands on the steering wheel at the nine (9) and three (3) positions as if the wheel was the face of a clock.

Do not use any handheld device while driving. If your car has it, utilize the handsfree feature to enable calling while driving.

Clean your windshield and wiper blades often or during rainier season.

Ensure your seatbelt and headrest are adjusted to prevent additional injuries in the event of an accident.

Obey the speed limit.

Use blinkers to communicate with other drivers.

Be aware to cars in other lanes ahead of you in case all lanes are beginning to slow down but the car in front of you is not.

We hope that most of the drivers reading this have heard of these safety tips before. Make sure to share this list with other drivers, so you can do your part in ensuring safe driving all around.
