Safety & Injury and Illness Prevention Trainings

Friday, 28 June 2019

June is National Safety Awareness month; however just because June is coming to a close, doesn’t mean safety awareness has to. Everyone should always practice safety throughout their daily lives.

Here are a couple things GPF did this month regarding safety!

In the month of June, our managers had their annual Safety Training in addition to an Injury and Illness Prevention Training.

This training focused on safe work practices and disaster planning. This training equips our managers on how to handle disaster situations and how to reiterate their skills to general security staff regarding safety measures. As we like to say, “Failing to Plan is a Plan to Fail!”. This training also provided knowledge of ways to proactively ensure no accidents arise in an office setting as well as in the field.

This training also included important information on working in extreme weather conditions; be it hot or cold.

Our security officers will be receiving their annual Safety Training during the month of July. This training will focus more on ways to prevent incidents occurring on their specific sites in the field and how to effectively mitigate disasters, should they occur.
